Online tutoring and In-person tutoring are options. Our qualified, knowledgeable and patient tutors will evaluate your student’s academic skills with subject-specific assessment methods during our first session. All vested parties will discuss specific needs that will be used for the student’s goal setting and match them with the right tutor based on the goals we set together.

Each session is flexible time-wise. Obsidian’s Pen will work around each family’s schedule to ensure flexibility without compromising the results.

Testing can be stressful for any student. They want to do well, and you, as a parent, want them to do their best. Our tutors work to give your child the experience they need to get the highest score possible through planning, practice, and expert guidance.

Obsidian’s Pen will work with them on examples of standardized tests to improve their performance as well as their confidence. We also offer reading assessments that will remedy any concerns with literacy.

Obsidian’s Pen will prepare supplemental material that is appropriate for the lessons that the student is learning. This material is aligned with state standards, reading levels and age appropriateness.

Supplemental material will be available for online and in-person sessions. Our supplemental material is:

• Comprehensive and created after the evaluation of student skills

• Provides Practice for school curriculum and concepts

• Convenient with easy access to materials

Obsidian’s Pen will create customized testing programs to assists students with state standardized testing. Our tutorial sessions will provide tips, tricks and evaluate the student’s test taking skills. It will also show and address areas of improvement.

For an additional fee, Obsidian’s Pen will offer last minute prep for students who have the important assessments coming up.  Additional questions, general encouragement and extra sessions will be available for the student. The additional fee will cover the tutor’s time outside of normal tutorial hours.
